Awards Ceremony

Guest judge Robert Llimos, well-known and award winning artist was immensely impressed by the artworks of several exhibitors, however Stefan Pertunov from Bulgaria rised above and received the 2nd prize for Best Barcelona Showcase Artist. Robert said that Stefan’s work had great technical skills and very interesting concepts. He was keen to see more of his works and even discussing on buying artworks of him! Artist Winner announced by the famous Spanish Artist Robert Llim?s. The modest yet very talented Artist, Stefan simply says he loves to paint. Experiencing with different styles, techniques and concepts he found that the best thing for him is to discover more and more opportunities in painting itself. Making and creating experiments in painting. He was educated in one traditional, and,- may
say “conservative” way in his country – as he says: 
“Contradictions and diversity were ‘bad’ things for the
official view. But  now I see that this could do some good for me as I began to consider that traditional painting is an advantage when you intent to explore the endless 
opportunities that painting gives.”

Interview: Stefan Petrunov
Luca Curci – Do you agree with our vision of art and what you think about the theme of the festival?
Stefan Petrunov – Yes, it’s very actual and inspiring. Visions are at the beginning of everything.
L.C. – In which way the artwork presented in our exhibition is connected with the festival’s theme?
S.P. – It’s connected as a visional example of an exotic image from the exotic parts of the world.
L.C. – What role does the artist have in society? And the art?
S.P. – In my view, the role an artist has in society is very important, and it’s not just being a decorator. Artist means to be very observable and sensitive in everything around, trying to create and establish his own artistic world and showing his view of life.
